Rat Lake Report 10.21.16

Today, I got word from one of our regular customers, Ryan Kilgore, that Rat Lake is still fishing really well. He caught a number of Rainbows in the 14"-16" range, along with one over 20". Buggers seem to be the trick: White Crystal Bugger, Bread and Butter Bugger, BH Rickard's Seal Bugger. Plus, I know from what I have been using of late, the TFP Balanced Squirrel Leech, should also work.

There also has been some midge hatches coming off, so don't forget you small dries and midge nymphs.

When I talked with our local Fish and Wildlife fish bio, he told me they did plant a number of Brown trout in the 14" range this last spring. So don’t be surprise if you hook into one of these. It's that time of year when the trout are putting on weight for the upcoming winter. That means that they are hunger and feeding hard.
