New Year on the Mo

For at least one day a year, I can honestly say that I’ve fished every day of the year. Some years, I can hold out for several days in a row. This year, I got just one. It was cold and windy, but beautiful and productive. I guess I can say that my 2015 fishing year is off to a great start.

The current fishing report is that now is the time to tie flies. It has been cold and the snow has been piling up of late. The river is a bit icy. It’s ok to give the fish a break now and then. When it next warms up, the fishing will likely be just fine.

If you want to get ready for the next thaw, stock up on your Soft Hackle Sow Bugs, your Fire Bead Soft Hackle Sow Bugs, small bead head leeches, an assortment of midges and tiny little pink stuff. If you are headed off to a warm destination, stop by and see Joe. He’s busy tying all kinds of flies for Bonefish, Tarpon and Permit. We still have a couple slots available for Belize in April.
