Mathews' Halon 6 Bow Review: Packing a Punch

I recently purchased The Halon 6 by Mathews. I got the Halon 6, 70 lb Draw Weight and 28" Draw Length in Black Tactical. Coupled with a Mathews QAD Ultrarest, Blackgold Ascent 7 pin Sight and a 8" B Stinger stabilizer.
Mathews' Halon 6: Quietest Bows I Have Ever Shot
This bow is one of the smoothest quietest bows I have ever shot. The bow sits in your hand with little to no vibration at all. The weight of this bow is a little on the heavy side but I believe this helps in the way the bow handles overall.

The Sagebrush Shoot-Out and Halon 6 Performance
The bow arrived almost 4 weeks ago and I finally got to put it through the grinder at the Sagebrush shoot at Hellsgate Sate Park on March 12th and 13th and the Camp Wooten shoot on the 19th and 20th.
This bow was highly impressive right from the get go. With some of the targets being out at 60+ yards, the Halon 6 handled the long distance with ease. Even with the 20 to 30 MPH wind gusts I fought on the first day of the Sagebrush shoot the extra weight of this bow helped keep me stabilized.
The only problem I had with this bow at all was the shooter. Which I have to take the full credit for. This bow always hit where I aimed whether right in the 11x or at the base of the target, when I misjudged the shot.
Kinetic Energy in the Halon 6 Bow
The one thing you will notice with the Halon 6 is that with the kinetic energy this bow puts out, when you do miss there is a good chance your Carbon arrow won't survive the ground. I have been shooting Carbon Express Maxima Red 350's , The speed I am getting out of this bow with these arrows is pushing between 310 fps to 320 fps.
We've got a huge selection of bows and archery equipment.
This bow is fast, quiet and overall a joy to shoot. On a scale of 1 - 10 I am giving this bow an 8.5 with the only downside (besides the shooter) being the weight of the bow itself.
