"Fishing is great right now... and so is the weather. Streamer weather on the way this weekend as we could sure use some clouds. BWO's are all over the river and fish are looking up as well as down. Denver spent this week on the upper river, and the rest of us have been busting up to the lower river after work all week to swing flies and praying for grabby browns. Lots of October caddis on the lower river as well, and would make a great indicator right now for that hard to see BWO dry or emerger (We have in stock the Solitude October Caddis, the Godlike Caddis, and the Slickwater October Caddis... all great October Caddis options). There have even been quite a few people coming in to buy firebead patterns already (is it already that time again?).
This week Paul and I have got to take out some new people to introduce them to swinging flies with double hand rods and it has been great from the Dam to Cascade... and lower.
Paul serious about this bow just below Craig...
And another... and another. The rainbows have been eating swung flies great from Craig to Mountain Palace... and we've done well swinging some larger browns on the lower down to Cascade as well. Find us in the Driftwood just after dark...
My Uncle Curt with his first swung fish on the Missouri and he is now a fan of the Two Hander. He's ready to get back out... pray for some clouds!
Many of you know the background on this picture... yep... the rainbows are grabby river wide right now.
A few last casts in Cascade before lights out by Curt...
Swing flies meant to be swung for best results. Come in to the Big R Fly Shop before you head to the river this weekend... Denver, Paul, and Sam will be sitting there counting flies so come pick their brains.
Cheers!"
