How do I install a Better Built truck box?

Great question, and we've got a video that answers it with step-by-step instructions at the bottom of this blog.

I learned how to do this just for this post.

And, let me further assure you that the extent of my truck-bed know how opens out about as far as the tailgate on a truck-bed... which means: not far.

So, if you're thinking, "I can't do this," don't be so quick to judge.

I was able to open the Better Built Truck Bed box, read the directions and install in under 45 minutes. Someone with the automotive (or even basic hand tool knowledge which I also lack) could probably get this truck box install done in 10 minutes.

Why would you need a truck box? The reasons are numerous, but we can start here: a safe, accessible spot to lock your everyday tools, gear and other "necessaries" you would like to access wherever your truck is; another reason to get a truck box installed? All your tire changing, jacks, and muddy gear has a safe place to live without having to worry about more rain-- or people walking away with your things.

We used Erik Haugen's truck as the guinea pig (he's our pet & tack buyer at North 40 Outfitters)... and he was aware of my truck skills, so he was justifiably nervous. You don't need to drill holes in your truck (which made Erik happy). In fact, you don't need any extra tools at all everything you need is literally in the Better Built box.

Note: You can use a tape measure to make sure your distance from the cab is the same on both sides though.
