Slackline w/ Erickson Tow Straps

If you are a climber, like some of us in the office- or a camper... even if you've been on any college campuses in the last 5-10 years, you will know what slacklining is. Climbers use it to train both balance and core strength. There is a growing group of people that slackline as a way to decompress after a stressful work day. Some people have said once you get the hang of it, it becomes almost like meditation. Erickson tow straps make a perfect slackline.

Swings for Patio

Erickson makes tow straps with a breaking limit of 5000 lb- if you understand that a safe working load limit (W/L/L) is the breaking limit (500) divided by three- than you will understand that this leaves ample room for the DIY crowd- especially when it comes to swings. Tow straps around the Northwest have become rope swings over water, swings from the horses' hot walker, and a safe alternative to supports for a peaceful patio swing.

Erickson Hammock Straps

If you want to do a little bit more DIY work, then creating your own hammock from an Erickson tow-strap is certainly possible. If you've ever done this, we'd love to hear about it; around the office it's somewhat of a myth.

Erickson Tow Straps for Treestands

The chair and the tree stand functions of the Erickson tow strap may seem, at first, unrelated. Those of us who hunt in the Northwest will have, in our time, come across a tree stand. If you have ever broken a manufacturer's strap, you may have used a tow strap to replace it.

NOTE: Tree stand hunting can be dangerous, so follow all manufacturer's guidelines.

Use them to catch Sea Bass

And, as you can see in the video below, you can use tow straps to ensure that the giant grouper you catch from the dock will not get away from you.
